Pacy McNeil - Thoughts and Facts « Thread Started on Mar 30, 2009, 7:57am »
A leather bound A4 book, it has a shoelace wrapped round it, always keeping the book closed, and a black ribbon in the middle to mark out the page he is on. Inside it is numerous loose photos of him and his family and tickets from days out, like to the cinema or tickets to theme parks and the like, it also has numerous drawings in it, some being blueprints for machinery, some being his own drawings of things. Written in messy handwriting, which looks like joined up graffitti, on the first page is:
I don't know why I keep this stuff written down when I have a photographic memory. It makes no sense, but then again neither does life

The page is opened to the first page. A hand comes into shot and starts to write. The writing is a weird mix of graffitti and joined up writing.
BOOK ORIGINS
Mum gave me this book a week before she died. A year before we as a family found out that I had a photographic memory. I never saw the point of having a book, if i wanted to remember stuff i could just remember it, seeing as I have a photographic memory, right? But today was my mother funeral. Me and dad buried her at a cemetary near our house. It was a small service, only me and my father paying respects. Then I came home, and found this. I picked up a pen and well, this is what came out. What I'm feeling, what I've done, my hopes, my fears. Sure I can remember it, but putting it down makes it seem more real. Like something I can look back on in a couple of years time and not just remember what was going on, but what I was feeling back then.
All I need is a pen, and I already got the book. I'll keep this on me. This is pretty much gonna be there for me to remind me of my mother. The last thing she ever got me. Yea, sure I got the memory of her ingrained in my mind, with all the tubes coming in and out of her in the hospital, but this book represents everything about her. This book is my physical memory of my mother.

Also inside the sleeve is a picture of two people, with some writing on the back
DAD AND MUM
- Photo was taken when I was younger. I had just started taking photos, this was one of the first I had taken of them. Kept it, dont know why, I can recall it whenever I want, but I guess sometimes its nice just to hold the memory in front of me. I miss my folks.
