"Oh my gosh I really can't believe what is going on right now. I mean where have these two American guys come from. And what is up with Elliott? I mean why is he being so protective over me and why is he so scared of these guys? I mean we just met these guys, well I have only only just anyway as it seems they are trying to get to find something out from me. I am not going anywhere with Elliott right now as he seems to be in a very weird mood. So I am going to talk to Jace as he was unable to finish his sentence as he started before he was interupted." Connie thought to herself as she became overwhelmed by the three guys all talking over one another.

"Elliott please stop ok. I think it is really sweet that you are so protective over me but please understand I am a big girl. Trust me ok when I say I will be careful. Besides I am just going to be a few feet over there ok listening to what this Jace guy wants to talk to me about." Connie explained as she brushed her right hand down from Elliott's shoulder to his left hand. Then Connie leaned toward Elliott and gave him a peck on his cheek.

Walking away from Elliott as she left him standing with Marcus as Connie walked gesturing from him to follow her as she created distance from the area around Elliott's car. Connie stopped after creating a fair distance from the car, so that she was out of earshot by Marcus and Elliott but still within seeing distance for Elliott's sake.

"Alright Jace. You say you are from a law firm. I am not even going to pretend that I remembered the name as I don't sorry. You began to say why you were here. So why are you here? And more importantly why does that involve you finding me? As it seemed that you knew what I looked like and you knew my name as you said Ms. Stone." Connie stated to the well dressed Wolfram & Hart lawyer unaware of his intentions.

Elliot grabbed the keys from Jace. Marcus thought it was quite funny. He chuckled to himself. What Marcus did not find amusing was how Elliot decided to threaten him. Marcus could easily take him down. Marcus was more than sure of that. The guy looked athletic but he knew that Elliot did not have super strength, and Marcus did. One good punch and Marcus could crack Elliot's skull, but the mission was not about taking Elliot out, plus if he did Marcus would be in loads of trouble. No, what Marcus need was to have finesse and try to manipulate the already horrific situation to his advantage.

Connie went to talk to Jace. Not good Marcus thought. A slayer is more valuable than a werewolf in my opinion. "Connie, I need to talk to you when you are done," Marcus shouted as she was talking to Jace. Marcus smiled and waved at Jace when he finished his sentence. Marcus turned his attention to Elliot.

"Listen Elliot. My name is Marcus Davenport. I am not here for a fight. I am here to talk to you and Connie about your extraordinary abilities," Marcus explained. "The people I work for, and myself, think that the both of you would be an excellent addition to our team to help save the world from an upcoming apocalypse. Now I know what you are thinking. 'This guy is crazy', but before you judge, I can answer questions for you both and help you stay safe, especially from those Jace is associated with." Marcus explained to Elliot in a calm and collected way. Marcus was sure Elliot wanted some answers and Connie did as well. Marcus smiled trying not be intimidating to Elliot.

"Oh one more thing, I know we got off on the wrong foot, and I can understand that you are worried for Connie and yourself, so it is only natural if you don't want to listen to what I have to say or even not want to join me or my colleagues, but...if you join Jace and Wolfram and Hart, you will be helping the apocalypse come." Marcus stressed the will part.

Elliott paused, let out a heavy breath and then shrugged. Watching Connie walk away was irritating, but then he noticed Jace, who he hadn’t noticed before was actually very attractive. His thoughts drifted for a brief moment and then, annoyed at himself, he went back into his previously distressed mind frame. “Look ... I don’t know you.” He paced around a couple of times and even put his hand on his forehead before stopping and then proceeding by letting his body relax. Placing his keys into his right hand and then signalling to go sit down in the car, he noticed a stunned elderly lady who was staring at them. “Let’s talk somewhere a little more secluded.”

Sitting down in the car, a little less worked up now, he put his head back on the expensive leather and picked his knees up to his chest while he waited for Marcus to join him. Always keeping a close eye on Connie in the rear view mirror he looked discomforted and frustrated as he twiddled nervously with his fingers.

“So what, you’re the goodie, he’s the baddie, we’re the fighters and the world’s ending?” he turned his head to look at the man again, “Listen ... Marcus ... you know it sounds crazy, I certainly know it sounds crazy. But ... then again ... if you’d asked me 6 months ago if I thought werewolves were real ... well quite frankly I’m liable to believe most things are at least possible now. So ...” He sighed, realising that he had nothing else better to do with his life then at least check it out, “I’ve not really got anything happening in my life. I’m meant to go to school, but every month I’d need to find a safe place to get locked up. And I could hurt someone and living in a boarding school ... people might find out. So ... I’ll come with you ... as long as I don’t have to sell my soul or anything ... ok?” He looked around nervously hoping that he had made a right choice.

Jace only smiled politly when the young slayer moved aside for them to talk. He was sort of bummed that this had not escalated to something more aggressive yet. He couldn't wait to see the look on Marcu's face when he saw that Jace was super strong. However, for now he would just keep smiling and talking.

Stone." said the English slayer. The young woman seriously needed to be taught a lesson about talking to strangers. If it had been Jace that was approached by a stranger he would have done the same thing Elliot did. Run like hell. Or at least he would have in the past... now he would just beat the person to a bloody pulp.

"Wolfram & Hart, thats the name of the firm." he said as he took out a card from his jacket pocket and handed it to Connie. "... see that's my card. Now I need to talk to you about what you are... and what you can do. I wish we could do it in a more private place... but I guess this will have to do... the people I work for want to recruit you to help them do what's right in this world. We help our clients to do the right thing and sometimes that requires discreet muscle... which is what you are. By discreet I mean beautiful of course." said the young lawyer with a devilishly charming smile on his face still.

"The people Marcus works for will want to control you and tell you what to do... already they have killed countless girls in the name of their personal agenda... Don't let yourself be one of them..." he said to her with the most sincere look on his face. In his eyes he showed heartache and caring. In his chest he felt absolutely nothing more than joy at his current power of manipulation.

"Girls like me die. I don't wanna die yet, I mean I am only nineteen years old. There is so more stuff I wanna do and try. I mean I haven't even done alot of stuff with guys yet or even been on a proper date. I want to swim with dolphins and bungee jump, so the dying factor is not really something I wanna accept in a job description." Connie thought to herself after hearing how Marcus had let so many girls die in the line of duty.

Connie then looked down at the business card and looked at it with interest before pocketing it into her pocket. "It sounds like a very good offer Jace but I still would like to hear Marcus out just to see what he has to say to me. I will be back in a minute. But thank you by the way. I can see from your accent that you have travelled a long way to track me down. By the way how were you able to do that?" Connie asked curiously.

Looking over at where Marcus and Elliott where, Connie did a hand gesture hoping that Marcus would understand that she wanted him to come over to her and chat. So Connie then looked at Jace and waitied calm & patiently for his response.

Connie waved Marcus over. Marcus did not want to speak in front of Jace. He felt it was not necessary. Marcus wanted to know what Jace said without the influence of him being there.

Marcus reached Connie and Jace. Marcus just smiled when he got there. It looked forced when he smiled at Jace. "Connie. Hi. My name is Marcus. I want to talk to you...in private," Marcus said as he looked at Jace. He wanted to know what exactly Jace had said as to inform Connie correctly.

"What exactly did Jace tell you that I do and wanted from you? I am asking so I can tell you the truth or answer any questions that you may have about your new abilities," Marcus said. He tried to sound as concerned and sincere as possible without seeming like an ass.

As Marcus and Connie walked away from him he just smiled. Jace knew that putting on a tough face for his arch nemesis would not be the smartest thing to do right now. This Connie girl was important to his bosses so for now he would make sure to be nice to her.

The young lawyer then felt a vibration in his pocket. It was his phone. When he took his phone out of his pocket he noticed that the number was private. He answered it with a 'Go ahead' and listened as a deep voice came out of the phone. "..take the wolf..." said the strange voice. He had no idea who it was, but only his employers ever called him privately. "Very well." he said into the phone as he stared at Elliot. He hadn't known what the young man was until his boss had called, but now that he knew he needed him to come with him also.

Following Marcus as he asked for a private word with her away from the ears of Jace. Connie then listened to the man's introduction giving him the name Marcus so she finally had a name for him instead of the other guy. Listening as the guy carried on who was very curious about the coversation she had moments ago with Jace. But Connie decided to set the rules of this conversation and not be told which direction it would go in.

"Sorry Marcus but I am not going to repeat what Jace and me just spoke about as it was a private conversation just as this one is right now between you and me. So forgot about what Jace might have said and tell me the truth about what you do & more importantly what you want from me. Go on! I am waiting." Connie explained to Marcus firmly but not being rude about it.

So forgot about what Jace might have said and tell me the truth about what you do & more importantly what you want from me. Go on! I am waiting." Connie said to Marcus. He did not like the fact that Connie was already starting to protect Jace and Wolfram and Hart. Jace seems to have an upper hand, Marcus thought, There is no use in fighting her on this just do what she says for now.

"Well, Connie you are what the world calls a slayer. A slayer was by definition a young female bestowed with mystical powers that originate from the essence of a pure-demon, which gives her superhuman senses, strength, speed, endurance, agility, and healing in the fight against forces of darkness. She also receives prophetic dreams in the few hours that she sleeps. There is a prophecy that states: 'Into each generation a girl is born: one girl in all the world, a chosen one. She alone will wield the strength and skill to fight the vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness; to stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their numbers. She is the Slayer.' Now before, as I mentioned earlier, only one girl was a slayer at a time and every time a girl died a new slayer was chosen. The girls usually died young because of the constant threats they face."
Marcus explained. He was actually quite happy he had studied some of his history before he left on the mission. He observed Connie's expression before he continued, to make sure she was comprehending all he was saying.

"Now ever since this one pending apocalypse, these events have changed. One great slayer who is still alive and fighting the good fight, Buffy Summers, got her very powerful friend who is, well now basically a goddess, Willow Rosenberg is her name, to activate all the potential slayer girls and give them full access to their slayer abilities. This tipped the scales in favor of good, but things are always about balance, so now evil is going around trying to either convince these girls they are evil, or killing them. My accomplices and myself are trying to recruit as many girls as possible to not only train them to use their powers responsibly, but to help portect them from the dangers that they are now a threat against. That is why I am here. To try and convince you, because you are a slayer, to come and join the fight against darkness...as corny as that sounds, and to convince Elliot, because he is a werewolf and he would also be helpful in fighting demons and vampires once he is able to control himself. Jace and the company he works for Wolfram and Hart will tell you all these things that are probably convincing to join them, but they want the world to end and are causing most of the mayhem that the slayers are trying to fight." Marcus said trying to keep the information as light as possible without making it seem vague. "Do you have any questions so far?

"Wow so much has happened in this world that was hidden from my life until very recently. I know it has helped them a lot by acting all these slayers but who gave this goddess girl the right to do so. I mean my life was fine until these weird dreams and powers came into my life. And Jace's offer does sound a lot more convincing and nice. But he wants me to learn my power responsibly where is the fun in that. I mean I have superstrength that is all that I need to know. What are they gonna tell me how I have to use it?" Connie thought to herself after listening to Marcus' long and detailed explanation about the history of the slayer and his group. It was quite long to listen to and a lot to take in at once but the majority of it was absorbed into Connie's mind.

"Yer I have a couple of questions for you Marcus. I want you to be honest with me though as there is no point lying to me and me finding out later as I won't be able to trust myself around people who lie to me. How many girls have died working for you? Actually change that to how many people have died working for you as you must have other people helping you out cause you said you were interested in using Elliott as well. Second question; how do I have to learn to use my powers responsibly and why do I have to? I am only asking you that as I have superstrength that is it right? Last question what is the agenda for your group?"Connie asked in deep explanation and questions as she tried to balance Jace's winning argument against Marcus's slightly weaker one.
